About Us
Research
Research is one of the BSA's statutory functions.
We add to publicly available information about broadcasting standards matters through our research programme.
Making our research relevant to different audiences is a key criterion.
Our research programme aims to:
- publish innovative and practical research which adds to public knowledge about a variety of broadcast and media content issues
- be informed about New Zealanders' views about broadcasting standards and related matters
- undertake longitudinal research where possible to maximise the value of data gathered over time, and to maintain consistency within the research programme.
In 2006 we published Freedoms and Fetters, a significant new research publication on community attitudes to broadcasting content.
