Advertising Standards
The BSA is responsible for political party and Parliamentary candidate advertising. Complainants follow the same procedures as when making a formal complaint about a programme standards matter. Political advertisements are the only type of advertising matter which the BSA can consider.
The Advertising Standards Authority is responsible for advertising standards on television and radio.
Viewers and listeners should refer all advertising complaints directly. There is no requirement to complain to the broadcasters in the first instance. Information about the Codes of Advertising Practice and advertising complaints can be obtained from:
