Welcoming Karen Scott-Howman as new Chief Executive

The BSA board is delighted to announce the appointment of Karen Scott-Howman as Chief Executive. She takes up the role late January 2015.

Currently the Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Advocacy at the Bankers Association, Karen is not new to the broadcasting industry or the BSA. She worked here as a Legal Advisor from 1999 to 2005.

She has also worked as a consultant for our monitoring agency, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage. Previously she practiced law in New Zealand, Australia and Canada for over a decade.

“We are delighted that we were able to attract someone of Karen’s calibre to the position”, says Peter Radich, our Chair.

“Her experience at the BSA, as a lawyer, with the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, and as a senior leader, means that she is equipped to step into all aspects of the role. We are very much looking forward to working with her.”
