I am very pleased to announce that the Board of the Broadcasting Standards Authority | Te Mana Whanonga Kaipāho has appointed Stacey Wood as the Authority’s new Chief Executive.
Stacey will bring a wealth of experience to the role, spanning journalism, law and complaints, along with stakeholder engagement, senior leadership and governance.
A former journalist with Fairfax Media before moving into law, Stacey is currently a General Manager at Engineering New Zealand, leading the legal and complaints, policy, public affairs, governance and people teams.
We are excited to have recruited someone with the strength and breadth of experience Stacey brings to lead our team as we and broadcasters navigate significant change and challenges in the media environment and society.
Stacey looks forward to meeting and working with broadcasters and stakeholders and you can expect to hear from her once she starts with the BSA on 5 September.
In the meantime, our Legal Manager Helen Cruse will continue in the role of acting Chief Executive.
