The BSA releases two election-related decisions
The Authority has not upheld a complaint that an interview with the Rt Hon Winston Peters on Q+A breached the fairness and balance standards. The Authority also has not upheld a complaint that a panel discussion featured in an episode of Te Ao with Moana breached the balance, accuracy and fairness standards. The Authority considered the panel discussion, during which references to Billy Te Kahika and the New Zealand Public party were made, carried a significant level of public interest and as a political candidate he and his party could reasonably expect to be subject to robust scrutiny.
