Music video "Beautiful Day". Video broadcast at about 8.00am on a Sunday between a religious programme and a children’s programme. Contained visuals of a couple kissing. Not upheld (good taste and decency, children's interests).

O'Neill and Television New Zealand Ltd - 2000-202

One News: promo for Holmes, "Drug Cheats". Promo questioned whether an athlete and a swimmer had taken performance-enhancing drugs before the Sydney Olympic Games. Not upheld (law and order, accuracy, fairness).

Schwabe and Television New Zealand Ltd - 2000-180

One News. Complaint that item about Olympic flame runner being accosted by spectator contained offensive language. Not upheld (good taste and decency).

Clarke and Television New Zealand Ltd - 2000-192

Coca Cola Chart Show: "Madonna Music". Item screened on a Sunday morning and included sex club routines. Complaint that this breached the good taste and decency and children's interests standards. Complainant assured that the video would be edited before being broadcast again but at a later stage an uncut version of the tape was used in place of the edited version. Upheld (good taste and decency, children's interests): action taken insufficient. Order (broadcast of statement).

Fair Go and promo. Episodes reported that vendor of a house believed he had been unfairly charged a second commission by real estate agents after a first sale had fallen through and a subsequent sale had been made. Private Investigators. Episode included an item about alleged employee theft at an Auckland delicatessen. Complainant alleged that her privacy had been breached and, as she had been dealt with under the police diversion scheme in relation to the matter, the integrity of the scheme had been compromised by her identification.
