The Authority has released five new decisions today

The Authority has released five new decisions today. Four of the decisions did not uphold the complaints made. The Authority upheld part of a complaint, finding that short items on Breakfast and 1 News referring to a Sunday investigation into sexual assault allegations by former and current students of the University of Otago breached the fairness standard and, in the case of Breakfast¸ also breached the balance standard. The Authority did not uphold the complaint about the item on Sunday finding that the programme was overall balanced with no material inaccuracies, and the University was given reasonable opportunity to respond.
